With over 35 years of investment experience spanning hedge funds, real estate, energy, and emerging markets, including eight years in Latin America, Dorothy Weaver has few peers in the investment community. She is the former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Miami Branch, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Wellesley College, serving on the Board of Trustees for 17 years and chairing the Finance Committee. She also served on the Investment Committee of the American Red Cross. In 2010, Mrs. Weaver was awarded 100 Women in Hedge Funds' 2010 "Industry Leadership Award." The 100 Women in Hedge Funds' Industry Leadership Award is given to a woman who has shown leadership in the hedge fund industry. The honoree will possess talent, business ethics and a passion for investing that define the hedge fund industry's standards of excellence. Awardees have been pioneers in some aspect of the business and have influenced a large population of hedge fund participants.
Prior to co-founding Collins in 1995, Mr. Collins ran a diversified alternative investment firm and was General Partner of a niche hedge fund specializing in short selling. With over 40 years of investment experience, Mr. Collins has served as President, CEO and Chairman of Fidelity Union Life Insurance Co. and was president of Allianz, N.A. Mr. Collins earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.A. from Stanford University. He has received numerous honors including "Ten Outstanding Young Americans in Business."
Mr. Windhorst has served as a Principal and Chief Financial Officer since 1995. Prior to Collins Capital, Mr. Windhorst was a partner and the Chief Financial Officer of Intercap Investments, Inc., a diversified investment company, and GCA, a real estate company. His career spans over three decades of financial and accounting experience with both public and private companies. Mr. Windhorst received his B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Nebraska.
Mr. de Garis joined the firm in 2006 and has built out the firm’s proprietary quantitative systems and risk reporting tools. Prior to joining Collins Capital, Mr. de Garis had over ten years of engineering and management experience in the UK defense industry, firstly with British Aerospace (now BAE Systems) and then Marconi Radar (now BAE Systems). During his engineering career, Mr. de Garis has taken on a wide variety of roles that include missile and radar systems modeling and simulation, trouble-shooting projects, leading proposals, managing a department of engineers and driving R&D efforts. In this latter role Mr. de Garis was responsible for risk mitigation of new technologies associated with missile defense. Richard also spent time as a consultant with the UK Government and has worked with US defense contractors, as part of a multi-national team, bidding for NATO study contracts. Mr. de Garis attained a BEng (with 1st Class Honors) in Aerospace Systems Engineering from the University of Hertfordshire in his native England and an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business.
Mrs. Goihman previously worked with Lehman Brothers and Banc of America Securities in New York where she held positions within the firms' credit, equities, economic research and prime brokerage groups. Mrs. Goihman graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Economics from Duke University and earned an M.B.A. from New York University's Stern School of Business, where she was the recipient of the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management Fellowship and the Citigroup Scholarship for Women.
Mr. Blauch brings over 28 years of experience in finance and accounting with public companies and has held various financial positions with NYSE and AMEX listed companies or subsidiaries. Prior to joining Collins Capital, Mr. Blauch worked with Equitable Life Insurance (now AXA Advisors) and Evensky, Brown and Katz, an independent financial advisory firm. Mr. Blauch received his B.B.A. degree in accounting from Florida International University and his M.B.A. from the University of Miami. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Florida as well as a CFP®.
Mr. Wamsley has over 18 years of experience spanning the full spectrum of financial markets. Prior to joining Collins Capital, Mr. Wamsley was the founder and President of Phoenician Capital, LLC, where he specialized in alternative investment consulting to registered investment advisory firms and institutional clients. He has held leading roles at prominent investment consulting and advisory firms including Schwab Institutional. He began his career at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Chicago Board of Trade trading interest rate futures and options and earned his floor membership while working for BNP Paribas. Mr. Wamsley received his BBA in Finance from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
